Meet Our Founder: Denise Serah

Denise Serah, a concrete rose and Los Angeles native, is a talented makeup artist and fitness enthusiast with over a decade of experience in the beauty industry. She began her journey in Los Angeles, working for renowned giants such as NARS and MAC Cosmetics. HERLUSH stands as a testament to her resilience and empowerment, as these influential brands played a pivotal role in her growth, both as an artist and as an individual, shaping her vision for a more inclusive beauty landscape.

HERLUSH is deeply rooted in Denise's personal journey, marked by the adversity she has faced as a woman of darker complexion. Denise firmly believes that "adversity can be a tool for strength and growth," not defeat. This belief inspires HERLUSH to redefine beauty standards and celebrate the unique beauty and resilience inherent in every woman.

Denise is a strong advocate for the trilogy of mind, body, and soul, understanding that true potential is realized by nurturing the essential elements of each:

  • MIND: Beliefs, perceptions, thoughts
  • BODY: Nourishment, rest, movement
  • SOUL: Desire, wisdom, purpose

By learning to understand and support each aspect, individuals can emerge as their best selves. In 2013, Denise created a private spa service company called LA GLAM, offering esthetic services at NSB Studio in Chatsworth, making it an affordable haven for women to come and be pampered. She has also led workout classes and personal training in Chatsworth, CA, and forged a fitness brand in 2016 called "LIPSTICKANDLUNGES," promoting healthy living that transcends superficial beauty and emphasizes long-term wellness.

Most importantly, Denise believes that true power lies in discovering one’s purpose. She asserts that everyone arrives in this world with a unique blueprint and soul mission, and that true achievement and fulfillment come from following that path. It is vital that we, as human beings, believe in a greater wisdom outside of ourselves to truly thrive.
